As our COO, you’ll be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of the Group’s Housing and Property services, including;
- Housing management, neighbourhood and estates, community and wellbeing services
- Tenant safety and compliance, asset management, repairs and maintenance and grounds maintenance services
- Affordable development for future housing needs
- Income management
- Leasehold, care, supported housing and independent living services
You’ll be expected to provide strategic direction to deliver high quality, tenant focused services, on time and within budget, informed by tenant insight and understanding. This will include monitoring and managing performance to ensure they achieve agreed targets as well as financial performance and management of the asset investment programme.
With our tenants’ voice at the heart of all that you do, you’ll be responsible for developing progressive strategies to enhance tenant experience and improve service delivery. By championing the Group to adopt new digital technologies to drive efficiency and deliver value for money, you’ll be expected to deliver a financially viable and economically effective service which maximises our resources and social value.
You’ll also ensure that our tenant data and assets are maintained and managed effectively and work in accordance with all relevant governance, regulation and legislation.
With your teams, you’ll bring risk management and business assurance to the forefront of the agenda and create a safe and healthy working environment, ensuring all policies and procedures are fully and consistently applied.
As a member of Gentoo’s Executive Team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all activities of the Group are carried out to the highest level of professionalism and ethics.
As our COO, you’ll act as an ambassador for Gentoo and always comply with our Equality and Diversity policies and adopt the Group’s culture of inclusion, fairness and respect. You’ll have an understanding of inclusivity in relation to age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender reassignment, religion and belief and sexual orientation.
You’ll comply with our information Security police, Health and Safety policy and procedures at all times and address any issues of data breaches or unsafe working practices and conditions to your management team.
The Group places great importance on sustainability and environmental management. It is the responsibility of the COO to ensure that in their day to day activities they embrace sustainability and minimise the Group’s impact on the environment by minimising waste and maximise recycling and saving energy.
Our COO will also be responsible for a wide range of tasks and activities as would be expected in an organisation such as Gentoo. As with all executive positions, there are also specific responsibilities and delegated powers, in relation to financial and operational matters, regulatory compliance, health and safety, environmental sustainability, information security and diversity. The Group CEO will review the portfolio of responsibilities of the Executive Team from time to time and make changes where appropriate.
